Flektogon focus problem

I have a Flektogon that is out of focus. If the middle is in focus, there is front focus one side and back focus the other side.

The lens doesn't feel slack or loose. Is this a known issue? A problem with manufacturing when new?

Does anyone have any experience?

Graham

If it is part in focus and partly no, missaligned element/s. It is most probable. If it is thus, perhaps an evil armed in a homemade repair

Dessamble the lens, it's easy and look.

Good luck. Rino.

Hello,

This remembers me of another faulty Flektogon, discussed in manualfocus forum ...

Probably your lens has a misaligned element (maybe serviced by a not too experienced repairman ?) or a badly screwed retaining ring ...

Take a look at http://www.kolumbus.fi/uusilehto/img/lenses/zeiss/disass/slides/lens.html and http://oomz.net/tessar/, if you feel comfortable (the second link shows how to fix a Tessar, but it could be a great source of inspiration) ...

Hope this helps

Best regards

As you know, the flek is a six elements in six groups.

An then you can compare using

http://www.kolumbus.fi/uusilehto/img/lenses/zeiss/disass/

Sure you know this page, but it all I can do for you.

Good luck. Rino.

It's very frequent on MC or eMC 35/2.4.

2 of 3 copies I acquired, had these issue Confused

But the reason why asked - I was told, that about 5% of 20/2.8 flektogons are deffective, because they contain deffectively refined lens element. But I don't know, if it's true...

East QC? May be. I never can get a Meyer Pentacon 29/2,8 in OK conditions. The fault? Misalignmed element.

Rino.

Rino, you wouldn’t have a similar link for the Nikkor 20/3.5 UD NKJ Ai would you?
It seems to be the same problem for my Nikkor as for Graham's Flek, a misaligned element or two. I do have a dent in the front filter ring, which probably the reason I got good deals. Rolling Eyes
