I find manual focusing a chore now since I last used it...but I love this old lense. I have a AF adaptor coming so I hope it helps out. Luckily Louie the cat was still long enough so I could use Live View.

Camera:...................Canon EOS 40D
Exposure..................1/100
ISO Speed.................640
Lense:.......................Pentax SMC Takumar 50mm 1.4
F Stop:......................1.4

How old would this lense be? It's SN is 6951565

Meet Louie! Very Happy

Louie's a cute cat. I'm intrigued by the reflections in his eyes. A chandelier, perhaps? He reminds me of my cats -- they too like to lie on paper. Dunno why, but I can put a folded newspaper on the floor and a cat will curl up right on top of it.

Nice sharpness and color.

Nice! I like cat's expression.

Thanks everyone. The reflections in the eyes are from a big window to my right...there's also a skylight right above him.

Merry Christmas.

Nice shot. Very clear and sharp. S/N could be so around 1970, 1971,1972

Thanks again everyone.

Kuuan: Yes I was very surprised at how well it did wide open. Leaps and bounds better then my Sigma 28mm 1.8.

Rolf: Thanks. Wow...funny how something this old can still be better IQ wise than the new stuff.
