Is there something like this sold currently i would love to get as i use handle grip on the left from the camera to hold it for photography and cant reach the focus ring of the lens without removing hand from the grip which is not optimal.

This one is Pentax 6X7 67 Quick Focus Ring, but online prices are ridiculous $100 per piece.




I do have this, but its not same experience as one above.



This little thing i can barely reach with my middle finger.

How are you holding the camera/lens? Correct is right hand with finger on shutter + left hand palm up under lens for support, using fingers to focus.

There is no correct or incorrect way its matter of preference, i hold with handle grip, especially with MF lenses that always tend to de-focus with slightest move and huge zoom lenses.

Problem with holding lens its too unstable this handle makes camera super steady and comfortable to hold.




Guess pentax medium format also promoted "incorrect" way of holding camera.

Got to be more open minded. After trying side handle for once most people would never want to go back to holding lens.

If my mind was more open my brains would spill all over. Smile

Agree about the handle for shorter focal lengths however not enough support with a long lens.

I thought the topic was for a focusing solution, not camera holding.

The shutter side of Pentax 6x7 looks tiny and lens is short, I imagine it is kind of difficult to keep in hands while winding the film?

I had a Mamiya 645 with prism for a while. The ergonomics felt like holding a small brick and really missed some handle.

Mamiya and Hasselblad each make quick focus handles for different lenses that sell for a lot less than $100. If you can match the diameter, you might be able to use one of those. AFAIK, they are the single post lever style, though.

Right i just did not like the word "proper".

I use side handle all lenses that are reasonable sized lenses small and medium (normal zooms), for large and heavy lenses like 1kg+ its not advisable to hold camera to not bend the mount.



Back on topic this is the solution i found can buy on aliexpress for about 20 eur or print using 3d printer there's plenty of models with name "Follow Focus Gear".

However i'd like to design my own custom 3d model similar to what was used on Pentax Quick Focus Ring
