Exakta lens to Minolta SR body mount adapter

I just received a gorgeous Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 4/300 from the late fifties - if I read correctly the serial number. It's in exakta mount, but it came with what it seems a genuine minolta exa to sr mount adapter ring attached.
The adapter seems quite rare, and I'd like to try it with different lenses, or even sell it.
Does anybody know how to remove it from the lens? is there some trick to perform, or it's just a matter of applying the right force?

Mount it to a Minolta camera/adapter, press the release button and remove the lens before you remove the adapter. Use a friction tool if you don't have any camera/adapter.

Thanks Calvin, I did it, it just needed a bit more torque.
