Either the Nikkor P 105/2.5 or the Topcor 35/2.8, both holiday gifts from myself to myself.
2. What's your most used lens (this year)?
Auto Rikenon 55/1.4 I probably have others that are as good or better but it ended up staying on the camera. Handling could be better but I like the rendering.
3. What's your favorite lens (of all time)?
I don't have enough experience yet to be able to answer. Right now it's the humble Helios 44-4 because it's the first manual lens I bought upon returning to manual focusing a couple of years ago and, therefore, I have a special fondness for it.

Three excellent choices.
You won't go wrong with any of those

I like 40mm focal length There is not that much choice and the Nokton is a beautiful lens. |

Really nice stuff everyone. My favorite this year? Zeiss Pancolar 80mm 1.8.
Most used? Tough call, I try to mix it up, so many lenses so little time.
All time fave? Pancolar 50mm 1.8, Nice to work with and gives me great images most of the time. _________________ photos are moments frozen in time |

1) a humble helios 103. I mean, I have and I bought better lenses, but that was a great surprise under every aspect: it produces good images, it is beautifully built, and it just fits perfectly my a7s. Also, it was as expensive as a pizza.
2) Probably the distagon 2.8/28
3)W-nikkor.c 2.5/35: I don't really know what is my favourite, but I know what lens I'd choose if I was forced to keep only one.
The little nikkor is versatile, it looks "old" and swirly (but still perfectly usable) wide open, and it cleans up and becomes more "modern" when stopped down. It's extremely small, well built and 35mm is probably my favourite focal length. |
Where did you get the adapter for the Helios ? Is it home made ? |

1. What's your most satisfying lens purchase (this year)?
This year I only bought MF lens (exception a kit lens with my new DSLR).
From these: Takumar 58/2.4.
2. What's your most used lens (this year)?
Difficult to answer. I have not used a lens specifically all year. After a short research among my pictures selected for PP, in MF lenses category, the winner is ...
Primotar 135/3.5.
3. What's your favorite lens (of all time)?
Even more difficult to answer. I have periods of time when a certain lens is favorite, then another, then I can return to one more use before. I have many favorite lenses, actually why I bought them to be favorite lenses.
In this moment it is Pentax A 100/4 macro, probably because it arrived this month. But I think the main reason is that it has a very pleasant bokeh.
For example, there were favorites lenses Pentax K 50/1.2, Orestor 135/2.8 (my version actually is a zebra Pentacon, but I like to tell it Orestor ), but other that I've used less can become favorites anytime.
For me, a lens is the favorite lens according to what I want and when and where to shoot. _________________ http://www.adlightstill.smugmug.com |

I plan to buy the Voigtlander 35/1.7 Ultron, as I absolutely love the look of the pictures I see on the web. I think it will become my favorite soon. |

1) Ok, don't flame me but my most satisfying lens purchase in 2015 was not MF. I got the Nikon 300 F4 PF. This lens is sharp, fast focus, VR and is half the size of my previous 300 F4 lenses.
2) Now, my most used lens was the Nikkor 58 1.2 Noct. No matter what lenses I start with, I always seem to finish the day with the Noct.
3) Guess the Noct would also be my favorite lens of all time. When I had Leica, I really liked the 35 1.4 Pre-ASPH and I am really liking my Nikkor 105 2.5 Sonnar type.
In 2016, I would love to find a factory AI kit for my 105 2.5 Sonnar. I know 'good luck' but it is the last one in my kit that does not have the factory conversion. Also would like something special in the 20mm range. Other than that, I will just keep an eye on the auctions for unique lenses.
Happy New Year all,
