Bravo. People should use longer lenses more often for landscape shooting. Great job.

Looks crisp. Where do you think is the sweet spot? f/5.6?

Really nice, Renato. Beautiful countryside. Thanks for sharing. Using a hood on that J-9?

Bokeh could be better. Twisted Evil

Great series, I've always believed that any lens can be used for any subject if its framed right.

Lightshow,

Thanks, man, bokeh rocks, but not this time, I was searching for other sort of framing that day. It's really a good exercise to try something not so usual like this kind of combo - landscape/short-tele. Thanks!

frenched,

I'm glad you like it, and yes, the J-9 was dressing a nice hat,

woodrim,
Man, the CPL filter I used nearby ruined the pics, it's a cheapo Osawa; I got one at ebay very cheap. I realized the bad it is only when opened the pics at home. But yes, J-9 has the sweet spot I guess at f5.6/f8.

anscochrome,

Glad you like it, I must do it more often, liked the results, too, thank you,

Cheers,

Renato

I don't even bother with polarizer or UV filters on my alt gear, as they are more likely to ruin a shot, for example a polarizer on a wide lens just messes with the sky too much. I will use GND or ND filters though
I do use UV filters on my Canon AF lenses to complete their weatherproofing.

This. So much. Most people think you need a wide lens for landscapes. And that's just fucking ridiculous. The opposite really. The sweet spot is between 60 and 90mm most of the time. I just hate it when people are saying stuff like '24mm isn't wide enough'. It's become the norm that landscapes should be shot with an UWA and I just don't get why. The compositions are friggin' boring. A nice field of grass in the lower half of the frame with some dramatic sunset in the upper half. Woop-dee-doo. Rolling Eyes

That being said: I love the shots, especially the first one. Great job.
