Mks1 and II suffered from a lot of spherical aberration so I took a different tack with my third attempt.

This version still has SA at full aperture but stopping down it goes away altogether, Sharpness is acceptable and the overall result looks fine to my eyes, the edges are not smeary, there isn't any CA I can see, I think this version is a success, provided you don't shoot wide open as the SA glow is a bit too much for my tastes. Contrast seems to have been reduced slighty but the light was abyssmal so I will reserve judgment until I try it in full sunlight.

Stopped down to f5.6 the glow is gone and the result is nice and sharp.
