Hello folks, I've just received a CZ Jena Tessar 5cm 2.8 Contax RF version and want to use it on a Fuji X PRO1 or X Pro2 - do I even need the complex and expensive focus ready Kipon CRF-FX1 adapter (link below)?

https://www.adorama.com/kafjxcowi.html

I also see there are some custom versions fitting Leica M mount:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Contax-Rangefinder-CRF-RF-Lens-to-Leica-M-Mount-6-bit-Adapter-Ring-M8-M9-M9P-/351398775855?oid=130969780121

If not, what type of adapter should I purchase? I purchased a standard Contax/Yashica to Fuji X adapter and it has too large a diameter. Is there a Contax RF to Contax G adapter? I don't mind returning the Contax Fuji X adapter.

Here a some link to the lens I purchased:

Many thanks in advance - this is a great forum!

This one is cheaper than the Kipon:

Tom, thank you very much! At 64 USD, it's definitely worth a try, plus I get a radioactive lens I can test with my rad/noise sensor Wink

Of course, it will take about a few weeks to get here, but hopefully it fits the miniature Tessar!

No worries - just be careful when focusing not to wind the helicoid all the way out. It has no minimum distance stop and the parts can separate, and are a pain to re-assemble.
Good value for what you get though

Tom, are you using the adapter from Kiev or Kipon? I'll definitely be careful. It's amazing how these adapter makers just put a simple logarithmic scale on a piece of machined aluminum or brass.

I'm expecting a Zebra version of the CZT soon; fortunately, it is M42.

I have another question on another version I purchased, also with M42 - it doesn't focus to infinity. Should I send it to a repair person and do you know of any in the US? Perhaps, as others have stated on this forum, it may have been repaired and reassembled incorrectly.

Here's two pictures of that lens (no infinity focus):

Thank you again...as you can see, I have VGAS (Vintage Gear Acquisition Syndrone)

Yes, from kosbik84 in Kiev.
I can't help with a repairer in the US as I am in Australia, but someone on the forum will know for sure.
I bought my adapter so that I could use my Jupiter 8M and Helios 103 - both wonderful lenses and used to be so cheap.
Prices have been rising on these as well
Tom

Mine has a stop at MFD.
+1 don't separate it if you don't absolutely have to.
I'd never pay for the Kippon, I don't use it enough to justify their price.

I found an excellent technician, honest, fast working, with fair pricing. The gentleman has over 60 years of experience. He is now semi retired and working from his home. You can reach him from: http://gasscamerarepair.com/
