Pierre: That last picture works very well. Maybe a tad more light on the subjects? How does it look in color?

In color, a lot of CA Smile Can't find yet the original

Not exactly typical Cyclop shots but thought I'd take it to the zoo out of curiosity. This thing has such a tight/awkward spot of focus..

My copy is always soft, never gets in focus and I don't know why, since there are no reversed elements !

Tried to disassemble the lens, but only managed to get dust inside ! If anybody wants my copy I will gladly send it to someone for a symbolic price !

I have a very nice copy of the silver Helios 40, so the Cyclop is basically a paperweight for me !

What camera are you using? I have found that it does make a difference. Also, focusing is extremely critical. Where are you located? If in the US, I may at least be able to give it a second trial before you give up on it.

Thank you woodrim ! I'm located in Europe (Portugal) unfortunately !

I'm using a Canon 550D with the m42 adaptor that I use with all my lenses ! I've also tried free lensing without the adaptor using live view, but still it never gets in focus !

Hi all, I'm new to the forum and have been investigating this - pardon the pun - "thread" Rolling Eyes for a few days since I found it.

I have what is being referred to as an NZT-1M2 Night Vision Scope that I want to tack on to the front end of my Pentax K5, and
the scope appears to have the same lens, more or less, that you all have been investigating. For the benefit of those of you keeping
track, on the front of mine it is marked "1.5/85" and I gather that the other number is a serial number, "9502537". The scope
itself is marked "made in Russia" and it's funny to find that in *English* - so I think it might be fair to assume that it was built
for export. My copy of the lens has that extra element sticking out the back and I note that it unscrews leaving one with a whole
other can of worms.

Now - for the purposes of hanging my K5 off the BACK side of the scope and actually photographing in NV, I will need appropriate
adapter(s) and so far I haven't seen much. But then, I'm operating in an information vacuum that I suspect the folks in this thread
can help with. I have seen the threaded mount referred to as an M42 ???? I presume that refers to the nominally 42mm O.D. of
the threads. (my caliper actually reads it at about 41.87mm or something silly like that Laughing )

The back ring on the camera adapter that comes with the scope happens to be *exactly* the same - verified by being able to easily
put that ring right into the lens mount on the front of the scope. SOOOOO, I am making an assumption that the back ring of the
camera adapter is also that M42 and that what I need is something that will adapt it to a current Pentax DSLR mount. Or possibly
some combination.........

If anyone has the goods on this threaded lens mount and knows where adapters are available, please do let me know - I'd appreciate
it.

Duane

Thanks !

Yep, they sent me that via email just in the last few days. First manual on it I've seen that I could 1) actually read Very Happy and
2) showed how to put the camera adapter onto the back of the unit

Now I just need to nail down an adapter for the M42 to fit my Pentax K5.........

Welcome here Duane?
Maybe try a search on eBay like : "adapter ring M42 to Pentax pk".
You should have answers for your K5.

Tested Cyclop on 5D, lens behave not like on my NEX.

I don't have swirling blurry corners anymore, looks like more normal (but still a Cyclop Wink )

PostPosted: Fri Jun 28, 2013 7:22 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I would have expected more swirly on full frame.

PostPosted: Fri Jun 28, 2013 7:30 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

I too... that's why I was surprised.

Very Happy

this is one of my first pic with it and my Nikon!

love this lens!

I used the 1.5 version taken from a night vision scope.

For Nikon which is the best adaptor to reach infinity focus?
