My new acquirement! I found this lens on a Korean site but I had zero information, then I figured out it's the original version of the Voigtlander Heliar 15mm f/4.5, before Cosina bought Voigtlander and changed the name of the lens. How rare is it? I found only few copies appeared on the Internet, ranging from $300 to $1000 (I bought it for $280). The build, appearance, quality of this lens is amazing, it's much better than my SEL16 f/2.8 and very it looks very tiny, shining on my NEX-6. I did a quick comparison to SEL16 on NEX-6 at f/4.5 and the Cosina won in every aspects. I wonder how much difference between this lens and the Voigtlander Heliar I Very Happy

Gratulations.

Actually the lens is 100% identical to the Voigtlaender lens version 1. Cosina did't have the right's straight from the beginning of this production line to sell their lenses and cameras under the Voigtlaender brand and sold in some markets under their own brand name. Same is true for their cameras. This lens was specially produced for the "Cosina SW-107" which is broadly known as the Bessa-L, which is the version without any built-in Finder for those super wide lenses. The last Bessa L was produced in 2003. It's by the way the most reasonable way to use this lens on a "FF"-body, where it is most attractive without any compatibility problems (like with some Sony digital cameras). A somehow comparable camera is the Leica MD, although it was produced more for scientific purposes and with Leica M bayonet instead of M39/LTM like the Cosina Voigtlaender.

I don't see any reason why this version should be anything special. However, collectors may have other views on that.
Finally, the CV 15mm is a very great lens. There is no doubt about that. I like it very much, although I like my CV 12mm even more. Wink

Thank you for the detailed information, it's very helpful.

Anyway, this lens is in pristine condition, it looks very nice on NEX camera and totally can replace my Sony 16mm in term of quality, that's the main reasons I like it.

Could you tell me what is the compatibility problem of this lens with Sony digital cameras? I might read it somewhere but I didn't read it carefully.

Roughly:
some sony cameras (especially the full frame mirrorless series, but also the nex-7 with some lenses) tend to show smearing and color casts in the corners with some wide lenses, especially rf ones, but not only them and not all of them.
The first version of the CV 4.5/15 had some of these issues, IIRC, that have improved in the last version of the lens - however these should not affect your a6000 - as your samples show.
However, the issue has been widely debated on the forum, so if you want more information you should be able to find quite a lot of threads about it.

I like it too. However, since I have besides my NEX (was by the way bundled with the 16mm Sony lens, so I know exactly what you mean) also the Ricoh GXR-M which is specially designed for Leica M and M39/LTM lenses, I use my Voigtlaender LTM lenses mainly on the Ricoh.
I've seen a lot of pictures from different NEX versions and also from the A7 and A7R where this CV 15mm creates color cast in the edges. If you google around, I am sure that you will find something more detailed about it. A user reported here that the newer version of the CV lens (version 3) is also usable now without any troubles on the A7. But not all NEX's are affected. My NEX-C3 (16MP) can handle it. Also a fellow user here with a NEX-5N is using this CV 15mm lens without any troubles. The bigger problems are with the CV 12mm lens. But this has nothing to do with the quality of the lenses as such but with the very narrow flange focal distance of the Sony E-mount system for which this lenses have not been designed and the Sony sensors have not been designed (to the contrary of the Ricoh sensor) to care about this specialty which may occur when ultra wide lenses are used.
I am afraid you have to read those articles again more carefully if you want to learn a little bit more about this phenomena and how to deal with it during post processing in order to get rid of it, if necessary at all. Wink

I really appreciate the response from both of you. I will surely read it carefully by myself and see how much it affects my photos. I didn't have any Voigtlander before so I didn't pay much attention on that debates.
