Mine has not come yet.

Apparently there will be an another G->m4/3 adapter, which has a gear
to speed up focusing (1.5 turns from nearest to infinity). The existing one
needs to have 4~5 turns from nearest to infinity focusing. There may be
a pro and con between two models IMO.

For this lens (90er Sonnar) you will need 4,5 complete turns. Thats the original number of turns the cam (G1/G2) would need also. I believe that this number is necessary that find the correct point of sharpness.
With 1,5 turns you will be much quicker from near to infinity but the question will be what is with focusing ?

Anyway, this combination is not a quick solution. You need time for shooting the pic. But I can tell you, it is a great feeling with these lenses Wink

Is there adapter to connect this contax G lens to EOS.

I saw once somewhere that it has to be modified the bottom in order to fix with the EOS... but i am so so bad at this one.

magic_az,

Contax G-lenses are for rangefinder camera G1/2, their back focus is only
29 mm. So you cannot use them on EOS cameras except modifying
G-Sonnar 90/2.8 to shorter barrel.

Had the whole day a business meeting. No time for testing.

Anyway, here 2 samples. First one this morning when I was waiting for a traffic light through the cars windscreen. The second one this evening out of the office.

Yeeeh, those give us pretty good impression of the lens, G-Sonnar 90/2.8.

I am still waiting for the adapter, though I was on jury duty this whole week,
so I could not do anything. Will check our mail box. Very Happy

This lens is a "hidden" gem or more than that, late Gratzel(sp?) contributed
the lens design of course as you know.

I have a lot of m4/3 adapters and therefore some lenses, Canons, Russians, Olympus, Pentax, Takumars, Konicas etc.

But at the moment I believe this one is the best for the pana G1/GF1. Own the 45mm too, will try it at the weekend.
