This is possible. This adapter has been available for sell last year from the same people who made the Contax 645 to EOS AF adapter.

How is AF performed, do Contax 645 lenses have a built in af motor?

Like the Contax N system, the AF motor is build in the lens. You may refer to a thread on the other forum http://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=97318 .
