Hi all,
first of all, sorry if it's a duplicate, the search engine is out of service for now
I had a Canon 550D and a lot of MF lenses, in M42, OM, C/Y mounts and so I have many adapters for my EF mount.
I just bought the new Fuji x-t1 and wanted to know if I can only buy one EF to FujiX mount and then adapt all other adapter within this one, in order to save some money
Any experience about this ?
Otherwise, if I had to buy fresh adapters for the Fuji, should I prefer some eBay seller over other ? Or any brand to advice ?
Thx ! |

Dedicated adapters are designed to preserve the correct registration distance for your camera body, whatever it might be.
When you stack adapters there is the possibility of increasing the distance between lens and camera body. This has the potential to affect infinity focus if the distance becomes too great.
Sorry I cannot address your specific stacking situation. Just wanted to point out adapter stacking impact in general. |

Thanks guardian for your answer,
that's what I expected, I know about the flange etc. but I don't understand why stacking a C/Y adapter on an EF adapter could be different than having the C/Y on a native EF mount. I understand that in some cases it might dramatically add some distance if adapters are large, but in my case it is about putting slim adapters like M42 or C/Y on it.
Just wondered if anybody tried it... |

I do use that approach on my X-E1, I have a single X-LeicaM adapter and the ones that I had for the Ricoh GXR-A12 on top.
If both adapters are properly made you shouldn't have any problem. The cheap ones wouldn't fit probably in this class, anyway you would have trouble with them. Some wobble and some others won't fit. _________________ Jesito, Moderator

Alright, thanks for sharing your experience !
Regarding the prices for EF adapters I think I'll try to find a good adapter, as I already have some good quality C/Y adapters too.
I'll come back here and share my experience when I receive all of them, including the Fuji that is in transit to home |

Hi all,
I finally got a Kiwi EOS to Fuji mount adapter, quality seems very fine, and I currently stack to it 2 C/Y adapters, one of a good quality and another one much cheaper with more shake, AND ALL IS WORKING TERRIBLY FINE !
I did shoot a pre-wedding by night this saturday with a Yongnuo flash and all was fine.
I even find that 50mm on my Fuji is, with those adapters, more natural length than with my previous Canon 550D, I don't think it's just the 1.5x multiplier vs the Canon 1.6x, don't know what it is but it really is appreciable.
And for information, focusing to infinity is OK with 3 lenses I tested : C/Y Planar 50mm f:1.4, C/Y Planar 100mm f:2 and C/Y Vario-Sonnar 35-135 mm f:3.3 ! |
