Cold and and a lot of snow

We are not used to the current weather in this part of the country. Very low temperatures and at least 50 cm of snow.
It's nice to look at but is a bit inconvenient.
I thought that a Russian lens must be well suited for this kind of weather. The pics are taken with a Helios 44M-4.

Took this one through the windshield of the car. The temperature meter on the car showed -31 C.

Even the big lakes are starting to freeze over.
The weather was quite dull on this one.

Hunting for rodents under the snow. She never gets them. They are probably too quick for her.

100% crop

Thanks a lot guys!
Appreciate your comments.

B/W image as requested.
I think it works in B/W, it was quite close to monochrome from the start. I chose a high contrast conversion, sice the shadows from the trees crossing the ski track was my main point with the picture.

Thanks all of you for the kind comments!

Tony:
The dogs name is Emma. She's a 13 years old retriever cross (lab, golden). Some likeness with Marley in her younger days, but a bit calmer now.

Thanks again!

It was cold, but not as bad as it sounds. The air is very dry and no wind.
Besides, the temperature has risen to -3 C for some days now.

When shooting in very cold wether I have made use of a tip from this forum and put the camera in a plastic bag before taking it indoors.
Works quite well. No condensation on the lenses.
