All wide open (I have also pictures at f/4). Lights were randomly blinking Smile .
Rikenon 55/14.

Pentacon 50/1.8

Zenitar 50/1.9

Pancolar 50/2

Helios 58/2

CZJ Tessar 50/2.8

Industar 50/3.5

Canon 18-55IS at 55/5.6

This reminds me that I have too many fifties...

I like the Pentacon and the Industar, don't like the Canon very much.

Which lens is best is an interesting question. They're all quite different and it will boil down to taste.

What is useful for me is to see how much max aperture affects highlight size.

In fact, I do not think this is a useful comparison if aimed at quality, but more at which kind of effect can be obtained.

Frankly it is always amazing to me how well the industar 50 does - it's small and cheap, but behaves like something much bigger.

Absolutely.

I can't understand why I don't use mine more often? Perhaps it's because I don't want to be seen in public with such a tiny thing? Wink
