Wonderful shots. I really like those pink lanterns.
The third is my favourite as well. Wonderful focus and composition and I like the contrast of the blue kimono against the pink blossoms. _________________ Canon 50D; CZJ Sonnar 135mm 3.5; SMC Takumar 55mm 1.8; Helios 44-2 58mm 2; Jupiter 37-A 135mm 3.5; Jupiter 11A 135mm 4; Pentacon 135mm 2.8; Nikkor-P 105mm 2.5;(Tokina) Vivitar 35mm 2.8; Tokina RMC 28mm 2.8; Vivitar 19mm 3.8; RMC Tokina 80-200mm 4.5; RMC Tokina 35-70mm 3.5; Panagor 90mm 2.8; Asahi Pentax extension tubes; 2xAuto Prinz teleconverter M42 |

Somewhere in Japan, and not Washington, DC, is my guess.

Thanks for comments (I'm blushing). I really like the 3rd shot but I wish I hadn't cut off her toes. It was a grab shot so I didn't have much time to compose. The best part of the photo is the decoration in her hair.
The place is Mishima Taisha (Mishima Grand Shrine) in Shizuoka, Japan. |

Thanks again guys.
I really didn't want to cut off her feet (I know it's a cardinal sin in photography). It was a candid shot. I just didn't have time to compose properly.
All the elements were there; nice girl in a kimono, cherry blossoms, lantern, girl looking to the side to show her cherry blossom hair decoration. And I cut off her feet. I'm still mad with myself I guess I'll have to try again next year |

I wouldn't worry about it. It's such a nice photo, I don't think most people will notice. Most people will be looking at her face (she really is quite lovely, isn't she?) and her kimono -- which is also quite strikingly beautiful -- anyway. _________________ Michael
