And welding glass fits Cokin P Series filter holders as well.
There is also different grades of welding lens glass, from light designed to stop damage to peoples eyes as they pass by a welder, to the lenses for the welder themselves. And there are different grades depending on the type of welding.
Some welding lenses also come with smooth edges to reduce the risk of cutting yourself, but I've taken the sharp corners of them with a diamond sharpening 'stone' that I use for tools.
I've got everything set up to have a go, but haven't had the chance to try it yet.

A potential problem with using this in the second slot of the filter holder might be that with long exposures daylight entering through the gap between the filter and the lens might be strong enough to “fog” the photo. It would probably take the sun shining directly on the filter from behind, though. |

I have one and glued the glass to an old filter, break the glass and superglue the ring, stops the light leaks which are very prevailant.
