Guys

I've just seen this on the UK site (UK postage only by the looks of it)...looks a great deal for someone looking for a cheap DSLR!

I'd buy it myself, but I fear a forth DSLR might raise questions at home Laughing Laughing

Click here to see on Ebay

It went really cheap, just one bid...

It's the only Pentax it does measure light properly in Av mode with manual focusing lenses, and it gets only one bid???

jES.

I though about one for MF lenses but, small LCD & small view finder, no live view, slow, noise at high iso...... Rolling Eyes

It's hard to go backwards.

It's not that bad camera. I'm pleased with my istDs, but I might swap it to a istD some day Smile.

My noise comparison with K20d:

The iso1600 setting is still perfectly usable IMHO.

small LCD, no live view, slow, - true
small view finder, noise at high iso - NOT true!!! It has the same pentaprism viewfinder as the K10D/K20D, only expensive models of other makers have better viewfinder, high ISO is better than on K10D, not much worse than on K20D if at all.

soikka, why would you swap your *istDs for the *istD?
When I bought my *istDs I had the choice for a *istD for the same money, but I preferred the *istDs for faster writing speed and because it felt better in my hand ( and this should be true for quite anybody )

The advantage of the *istD are the two wheels but that is not needed if using MF lenses. There are some more dedicated buttons, I can't remember which ones they were or which ones make a real advantage over the *istDs, do you know?

cheers,
Andreas

I don't think it's such a good price. In Romania the Isdls go for 100-120 pounds. I just sold my K100D kit for 170 pounds, but I saw them going lower

You're making a good point there.

I was first looking for D because of the two wheels and the AF-system is supposed to be better also. I also use AF-lenses from time to time.... but nowadays Ds is almost only used with MF-lenses... so there's really nothing to gain. + I only own SD-cards...

I was comparing to my 40D. ISO noise between the 2 is quite noticeable.
