Shooting still with the 50D and Tamron SP 28-80. Wink

Among Cedar Point's superlatively exciting roller coasters, Mantis stands out. Literally! Shocked
Code:

From Wikipedia:
"It set several stand-up coaster records when opened, including height: 145 feet (44 m), speed: 60 miles per hour (97 km/h), steepest: 52°, and in the US, four inversions."

Riders straddle a support much like a bicycle seat which locks in at each riders' height,
with a padded restraint ratcheting down over the shoulders and chest.
The unique experience of blasting through such a ride while fully upright is truly amazing!
This is on my list of must-ride favorites every time I've visited Cedar Point.

The top of the lift hill, with its slight drop & turnaround leading to the first 137 ft (42 m) drop.

Different angle, showing the first drop's rise into the first loop.

A train beginning the downslope of the first loop.

Lift hill, first drop, and first loop, caught in the early part of the sunset.

Last, a view of the Mantis lift hill, Power Tower, and a banked turn of Millennium Force.
