I'm trying to identify the mount used on an old JVC S-100U body. I have one of these with a Canon TV V10x16 f/2.2 lens mounted on it, which I was hoping to adapt to C-mount (which could then be adapted to M4/3 for BMPCC mounting). I've had very little luck finding any information about the mount used on that camera or lens, presumably due to its age.

It's basically the same lens listed here: Click here to see on Ebay

I had found a prior discussion about a similar lens (on personal-view dot com), but the discussion was pretty inconclusive, especially since they believed that the lens mount had been removed (which I'm pretty sure wasn't the case, as it still mounts to the JVC camera).

Any help with identification or potential mount adaption suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Does it cover the M4/3 sensor? Almost all video zooms don't. A few can be used in ETC mode on a Panasonic.

Some were designed for a 2/3" chip, some for a 1" chip, some newer ones for a 1/2" chip. So they are not designed to give sufficient coverage. Some of the 1" ones will cover m4/3 at the long end but won't cover M/3 for most of their zoom range.

Perhaps some of the 1" ones could be useful on a Nikon CX sensor which is roughly the size of a 1" chip.

I've had a bunch of these old video zooms, I think I had this Canon f2.2 one too, they all produced a very small image that wouldn't come near coverage of the M4/3 sensor.

It covers the BMPCC sensor, which is significantly smaller than the Panasonics. The two issues (I believe) are going to be infinity focus, since I'll probably have to move the back of the lens closer to the sensor, and adapting the current mount.

I grabbed a V10x16 lens off of Craigslist, and ended up removing the back mount. Not only does the picture cover the sensor, but it appears to be able to achieve infinity focus when pulled back from the sensor a little. With the BMPCC it does not vignette at any focal length or aperture (that I've found so far, anyway). It does seem as though it's going to need a custom backing replacement to mount either directly to the M4/3 mount on the BMPCC or a standard C-mount. I have to properly measure the gap before I can spec out an adapter for it.

It's quite easy to remove the back plate -- there are five or six small Phillips head screws which have to be removed, and the back mount comes right off.
