Just received a very nice condition Canon 50mm f1.4 from a seller in Germany for quite a good price. It is a FDn not breechlock. I understand that the usual number of blades was 7, mine has 8.
Any good??

Yes, it (nFD 50/1.4) is a quite good to me. Congrats.
