Hello , again !
for the use on a crop 1.6 camera how good is the 24mm FD S.S.C. ? (want 35mm equivalent )
Does it worth(optical quality wise) the hassle of adapting such a lens if I find one under 30 E ? Or should I dig on for a bargain price 24mm/2.8 Nikon AIS or Zuiko 24mm/2.8 ? Other options ?(Sigma 24mm)
I already have a Rokkor 24 and think I'll keep it in original mount , and a Hexanon 24 wich I love , for wich I am waiting a mirrorless 1.5(or so) camera Laughing

I had a 24mm f2.8 FD a while ago - very good indeed but I doubt that it's significantly better than comparable lenses from the other big-name makers. If conversion to your camera will be expensive, maybe better to go for one that's easier to adapt.

It makes no sence to use this lens with a glass adapter (don´t know your 1.6 crop cam). With a m4/3 you can use it.

Not sure that you will find a Nikon or Olympus 24mm as a bargain. Looking since several months for a Nikon 24mm AI or AIS but found nothing below 200 € here at German *bay.

Wink

Nikons seem a bit cheaper in the UK if it helps...my Nikkor 24/2.8 AiS was just £60.00, while I picked another up for £65.00 for a friend Smile

I recommend you look for a Tamron 24mm f/2.5. You can put whatever adapter on it you want to accomplish your goal.

I own a Tamron 24mm f/2.5 and a Nikkor 24mm f/2.8 AIs. I have tested the two lenses, and even posted the results of the tests with photos here at the forum. Judge for yourself. Me I think the Tamron 24mm is an outstanding optic. And sometimes it can be picked up for a very reasonable price. Definitely cheaper than the Nikkor and probably cheaper than the Canon 24mm SSC.
