Woodrim, it's hard to argue that one always has to look for an optimal combination of shutter, aperture and ISO. Simply sometimes the optimum is achieved wide open Smile . Of course, I also agree that shooting a sleeping baby wide open is 100x easier compared to these photos. So is wide open here optimal? Hard to tell IMO.

And yes, these are much, much better than the original pictures.

I agree with anyone, that say..shoot wideopen... Very Happy
I mean, to show real character of fast lens we have to shoot wideopen. Yes there's flaw like CA, very thin dof etc. But that's how we handle 'em.
My fastest medium tele is Cosmicar 75/1,4, I often shot wideopen with it, you can see on Gallery.
For stage performance...Here's my sample of Summicron 90/2 all wideopen
