I "heard" that the mirror can hit the aperture lever on Nikkor lenses... is that true?

it depends what DSLR body you are using.
If you use a crop body, like 40d/50d, i have not experienced any problems, but i noticed that with my nikon 50/1.2 AIS the lever may hit the mirror of a 5D.

I have both APS-C and FF Canons, and I have Nikkor with thick tab at rear, works good on my APS-C but wont even mount to the 5D.
I know I could grind off the tab so it will work for both cams, but I wait for better solution.

I have tried quite a few Nikon lenses (50/1.2, 105/2.5, 135/2.8, 35/2, 24/2.8, ...), all without problems on my 40d.

However, last time i showed my 50/1.2 AIS to a friend with a 5Dmk2 and he said that that particular lens would hit the mirror.
