Does anyone know what this is or have experienced the same thing?
The seller doesn't know what it is, he's selling it for $10.

I highly doubt that a missile guidance system needs a 10-blade manually controlled diaphragm, as well as markings indicating the focal length and aperture ratio. |

It does look like some kind of repro-lens to me. I‘ve seen Agfa Colostars in similar mountings, several Zeiss lenses, some french lenses (Boyer, Angenieux) and finally Kodak Ektars as well. Some without, some with variable diaphragm.
Don‘t know the exact use case for all those lenses but it might have varied between early microfilm reduction, enlarging, industrial inspection, repro- and copy work…
There are some aerial lenses which look similar but not identical and those were clearly made for smaller formats (16 mm). The ones for 35 mm film and bigger are usually significantly larger (and faster) and most have different mounting solutions.
It could still be from some military application, but I doubt it‘s from an air-based one. _________________ ---

Very interesting! Seems like I was completely off - indeed air based and used in combination with a gun. Thanks for sharing! _________________ ---
