Probably works Laughing but I also like the elastic band idea for panning a video camera to prevent jerky movement.

yes, I did see someone carry a Halo Rig filming at the Kumbh Mela in India, camera mounted was not a dSLR but a video cam.
Besides the camera only a mic was mounted, it was not overloaded like in this ebay ad which shows that many gadgets 'can' be mounted.

A Halo Rig much have been chosen because it is the smallest, most compact and portable of pretty much any effective video stabilizer,
