Budget mid-range zoom for Nikon?

I'm "in Nikon" for a year now, love the way my D7k works with mf glass. My Tamron 26A (pretty fast 35-210) is on it most of the time, for getting close there is always the Kiron 1:1, and though I'm still watching for primes I have decided that my first wish is a mid-range zoom in the 70-210 area: sharper than the 26A (which is after all an all-in-one), and AFFORDABLE. Looking around, I'm arriving at this shortlist (in parentheses what I found as general verdict)
Tamron 19AH: (+ sharpness, close focus, f3.5 all the way; -reverse zoomin, prone to flare. price)
Tamron 104A (+ price, close focus, ease of use; - less sharp on the long end, slower than 19AH)
Nikkor 70-210 f4(+ sharpness (?), -no close focus(?), price)
Tamron 75-250 (+ range, speed; -sharpness(?), other?)
Vivitar 70-210 (don't know if I can find/afford the 3.5 version or the Komine 2.8 - 4, wonder if the Cosina 2.8 - 4 versions offer acceptable quality)
    Any other?

Hope that somebody can put me on the track of a gem nobody knows (yet) about - or help me make up my mind about what lens of my shortlist I should put in the #1 position.

MF so far: Nikon: D7k. Tamron 19A, Vivitar S1 200-3.0, Kiron 105-2.8, Tokina 135-2.8, Tair3H, MTO H 500-8
Canon: 40D, Helios 44 2,4,5, Industar 50-3.5, Pentacon 30-3,5, Mir 37B, Photax 35-2,8 - Meyer 135-2.8, Jupiter 200-4

Your shortlist sound great.

Those lenses are also pretty good:

Soligor C/D 4-5.6/60-300 MC

Kiron 4.5/70-210 Macro 1:4 MC

Tamron 3.8-4/70-210 Macro 46A

Tokina RMC II 4/80-200

If you can find one of those in Nikon outfit, they are worth a try.

Nikkor AI 80 - 200mm f 4.5 should be considered, too - often cheaper than the f 4 newer brother. Be aware, that nearly all these old Nikkors have a loose zoom, means if you use it on a tripod with angles up or down, you either need a rubber stop or it is a no go

Thanks for suggestions. Shortlist is shrinking. Don't know if a Tamron 19AH is within reach, would like to know how it stands up against the 46A, because they are practically knocking on my door. Soligor I ruled out - too slow, same with Tamron 60-300. Kiron 80-200 is not within easy reach. Would also like some references on the tokina 80-200; pics on Flickr look a bit bland, lack of macro function would be antother minus. Figure that I'd better stay away from Tamron 04A, which lacks sharpness (???), but I'm still attracted to a Vivitar series 1 by Kiron, although experts say it's not he most desirable lens(??). Awaiting your comments, Thnx!

A completely different matter: what's the verdict on an old Nikkor 300 -4.5 as compared to a Tair 3A (turned into H/N)? Wide open I find the Tair a bit disappointing, especially with converter, but I love it - it is a bomb. How does the old Nikkor behave?

Nikon E 70-150, made by Kiron, I have it in Panagor branding, excellent lens.

I'm not impressed with my RMC version Tokina 80-200 f4 Sad
