They had a BGN one for $159 and went for it, sexy looking cam, too. I'm
looking forward to trying it with my non-CPU glass. It has the Electronic
Rangefinder for focus confirm.

Welcome to the club. The best Nikon camera so far for MF glass.

You can't go wrong with that...

Congrats! I'll be interested in reading what a KEH "Bgn" camera looks like, and how it performs. So be sure to let us know.

Congratulations!

I have one, hardly use it (F4s, and standard grip too). Embarassed
This Nikon is the most versatile cam to mount old and new nikkors.

Thanks for the replies, fellas, really looking forward to trying this! Guess
I need to get some disposable Lithium AA's since I hear the new
Eneloop NiMH batts aren't recommended..(?)

Still trying to find a downloadable manual (as in free) since Butkus doesn't have one on his site.

BTW, I have been advised not to use the Nimh by the Nikon service center here. But on the other hand the net is full of reports of people using these with no flipside whatsoever. I personally use the NiCd rechargeables (though the availability is dwindling). You cannot use rechargeables with the MB20 grip if you use one.

The only thing wrong about Eneloops is that the meter on the battery holder does not show anything meaningful on them - depending on whether you switch the display to NiCd or Alkaline, they deplete very suddenly only two or three films after the display switches to half full, or they get flagged empty within the first film after insertion. I settle for the former and recharge ASAP when they are supposedly half full. Lithium AAs are even worse in their discharge pattern, so they are no solution - if you want an accurate display, you'll have to use old-style low capacity alkalines (or NiCd if you still can get them legally).

@SVP, thanks! I downloaded a copy from that site. Koji and Shiladitya,
thanks for your offer.

Sevo, thanks for the heads-up, will just get a bunch of Duracell Ultra
batteries then.

Hey congrats! My guess you will love it and use Koni Omega Wink

Attila, yes, the Koni's are definitely staying and for 35mm I'm thinking
the F4s may be my Excalibur, the matrix metering alone will be wondrous
fine to use.

Yes act as light meter as I do with Konica cameras Wink and use folders.

I use the Energizer Utimate AA Lithiums in MY F4s with NO problems.

Thanks, Dann, good to know. I sure hope this doesn't take a whole week
to get to me from Atlanta (4 hour drive by car).

It shouldn't take more than a day or two to get to you, unless it's on its' way to you via a 3-legged, blind, arthritic 103 year-old mule, walking backwards while towing a bus-full of pie-eating contestants.Very Happy.Very Happy.

Laughing
I got the Quantum UPS email message today where it's in the works, but they don't have the item yet. Probably looking at Thurs-Fri sometime. I'll
go tomorrow to Wallies to get the lithium batts for it.

I see that you are already familiar with the main transport vehicle used by DHL....
