So, in between negotiating the purchase of a few lenses from a member here and lunchtime today, I decided to walk over to the Botanic Gardens with some of my lenses.

I didn't get to use all of them, but did manage to get some really strange looks from others with their fancy-dancy AF lenses...Embarassed

1. Pentacon MC 1.8/50

2. SMC Macro Takumar 4/50

3. SMC Macro Takumar 4/50

4. CZ Planar 1.4/50 HFT

5. CZ Planar 1.4/50 HFT

6. SMC Takumar 2.8/105

7. SMC Takumar 2.8/105

Nice rich colors! I like 4 and 5 best. Is it okay to take photos in the gardens or did you go and ask permission first? I've never been there.

Welcome aboard - I'd checked online this morning to make sure it'd be okay, but also double-checked with security on my way in. As long as you're not shooting a movie or similar, they're cool with photography Wink

Have also decided that it'd be better to go there during the week - I kept having to move the tripod to let people pass in certain areas. That, and the gawking photographers!!!

I did have a pen and paper with me to take note of what lens I used for what shot, I knew I should have taken down the names of the plants too Embarassed

#5 is my absolute favourite Very Happy. Is it wide open?

Thank you (and everybody else) for the kind words - it means a lot.

Yes, that one was wide open - I'm really pleased with this lens; it's my first Rollei-mount one and, apart from the mirror-slap when heading to infinity, it's given me the Planar bug Embarassed

Another wide-open shot, taken just after the #5 one...
