I took this image for a different thread, but am taken by the smoothness of the boke.
The taking lens was Auto Chinon 1.7/55 @ f2.8

I am very impressed with these images. I thought Seikanon was another generic cheapo thing, but you seem to produce marvelous results. Can you tell me more about the lens and your experience?

Hey Rudolf,

thanks, I'm enjoying the lens a lot!

At first I was interested because of the Macro, but now I'm finding out it performs well between 28mm and 50mm (have to double check @ 70mm).
Lens doesn't look sturdy, it actually feels a tad plastic.

I'm getting different results, sometimes I love it sometimes it looks really cheap.
For instance, bokeh on the gravel img above looks odd to me, but I was also using a Raynox DCR-150 so I'm not sure if that's the reason (whereas other images took with the Raynox turned out pretty nice).

Wide open is soft, but sometimes acceptable.

What I'm appreciating is the color rendition (I color corrected the pics posted here, though just contrast/saturation and some color balance in the last two), but usually quite reach and vivid.
I'm planning to post more images on a separate thread.

So, all in all I think I'm pleased by this purchase (especially because it did cost me just $20).
As for every lenses I just need to test it out more and see where it excels and where it fails.
