Hello Phil, so the creativity is on your side too.
Hope your Mikar will be a good performer.

Hi, yes I hope so too, initial tests show it is sharp and pretty good for a triplet. I bought it in Łódź last week for 3zt. Cleaned up it must be worth 20zt. Seriously they are cheap as that and according to this post: http://forum.mflenses.com/my-new-lens-mikar-s-55mm-4-5-enlarger-extreme-resolution-t21579,highlight,%2Bmikar.html very good too. So I'm happy.
It would be nice to compare it against the Rokkor and the Schneider I have.
I was surprised it was M42 thread.

I use blu-tak a lot too Phil, but I never thought of using it as a friction tool, great idea! |
Cheers Ian, try it and lets see what you can do with it.

I've used this stuff to duplicate a key, erase ballpoint ink and to clean dry sticker residue from things.
I used it as a friction tool once when I needed to open a lock casing in an emergency and didnt have a key. After removing the brass bezel I was able to smash the base metal casting beneath. It probably saved a life that day.
Perhaps a good burglary tool. But if you do I'd make sure you don't leave any behind. It duplicates fingerprints perfectly. _________________ Hero in the 'messin-with-cameras-for-the-hell-of-it department'. Official. |
