The 35mm F 2.8 CY/Distagon has never failed me. I know it is not "fast", but I find it a very good value. I shoot mine @F8 all the time outdoors, so the lack of F 2.0 is not a concern. They are still available at reasonable price points.

I tried some 1,8 mc and md. Well, the 2/45 rokkor md at f/8 is a better lens to me.

Fast 35, I know the Zeiss Contax 35mm/1.4 - very good.
Minolta Rokkor 35mm/1.8 HH - I don´t like it much.
And the Vivitar 35mm/1.9. I have this lens not very long, but with the images I made with, I see no issues.
With extension tube the sharpness wideopen ist bad. LucisPictor wrote in another forum it has stray light problems, up to now I haven´t seen these, probably because I use a hood with this lens.

I find the Contax Zeiss Distagon 35mm f2.8 very good. Nice rendering and sharp. But maybe not the brightest out there.

Have any of you seen what the new Sigma 35/1.4 can do? Pretty startling and my hunch is that even a Leica 35 'lux FLE would have a tough time beating it WO. A bit weighty on the NEX but I've seen worse & with the new Metabones Speed Booster adapter, AF is intact albeit leisurely in speed.

I have one Smile

It has been tested to be, optically, the best fast 35 on the market, bar none. Better even than the Zeiss options.

+100.

I had it for very short time.

Really, any time (years yet) is excesive short to enjoy it.

If you find it and can purchase, DO IT !!!!!

I have the 'lux too Embarassed and will have to sell it soon, if anyone's interested. It is pretty perfect. You certainly can't find a lens that is this small and this good.

But to be completely honest with you, I think the Speedbooster opens up many possibilities on the crop sensor so that the 'lux 35 which becomes a 52mm equivalent is as special anymore.

There is a number of brilliant 50mm lenses out there adaptable to the Speedbooster.
