Not sure why the author tested them all at different apertures when stopped down? Confused

Since most lenses tend to be at their sharpest about two stops closed down, I took shots both wide open and two or so stops down. Interesting... but no Planar, no Tessar, no Meyer/Pentacon Orestor, no KMZ Helios 44 and absolutely not a single Nikon 50mm?

I like to see bokeh myself, it's one of the reasons I like old lenses - character.
