I have this lens too, but never used it Surprised
My lens has a 6 digit serial, so I guess mine is newer?

It`s a good lens, no doubt of that. I didn`t had the time to do some "artistic" shots yet, but here you got one from my daughter

Very fine images.

I see that ones taken with the 1,8/55 mamiya lens and the others post here and can't definite which lens to have. This rikenon? The mamiya?

Which is the better. God, I knew before came into the forum that this situation should happen.

It's very nice to stay here, but....which lens???? Laughing Laughing

Buy Either,I like both the metal Auto Mamiya/sekor marked lenses (M42) as well as the Auto Rikenons. Let the price decide on which one you buy first. Smile

Yes Lars so many +1's from me too.
I actually got this lens as a surprise in a package with a couple of vivitars and haven't really used it, but it will be getting a workout now.

Very Nice!

How does it relate to the Auto Rikenon 50mm f/1.4?
If exactly the same, but faster, then I may just fork out a bit extra and get the 1.4... Smile

I found a copy of the 50 1.7 for sale still attached to an older Ricoh camera. I now have the 35mm 2.8, 50mm 1.7 and a 135mm 2.8. I have been using them on a Canon 1100d. I first started using these lenses with auto confirm adapters. I now feel I no longer need the auto confirm feature. I have noticed it is easier to train your eye to use manual lenses with some manual lenses than others. Rikenon's are some of the lenses I have found that pop into focus. They naturally seam easier to focus than others. You know it when they are in focus.
