I recently bought a Macbook Pro Retina and was thinking of getting the Aperture app, is anyone using it, if so what are your thoughts?

I use Canon DPP and Faststone on my Windows laptop, which I quite like, but Faststone isn't compatible for Mac. I was thinking maybe try Lightroom, but I can get Aperture free.

I use aperture, I prefer it over lightroom / photoshop, brilliant product, its non destructive so you can revert all edits back even years down the line, easy way to use it is think of it as bricks you add a brick to a photo for example contrast, then adjust, you can paint it in or do all pic.

Many thanks eddieitman for your reply and kind offer. I have decided to download Aperture and give it a try. It will cost me nothing as I have a £70 gift voucher to spend in the app store, which will more than cover the cost.

I have been in touch with Apple over the last week asking if Aperture 4 is imminent, but sadly everyone there is none committal. Sad
