Thanks guys, I'm getting redfaced with all these compliments! Embarassed

Here FYI how the lens is designed, I had not mentioned that yet, 11 lenses in 9 groups; the two red ones being made of anormally low dispersion glass:

Congratulations on the new lens, Klaus, and thanks for sharing these superb pictures.

Welcome to the club!

This lens is one of my all-times favorites. It's fast and sharp, has nice colors, superb bokeh, no chromatic aberrations and no purple fringing. Added bonus: it's a close focus lens going straight to 1:1 ratio without any accessory. The only drawback is that the lens is no lightweight but, when you think about it, that's pretty normal because a double helicoid made out of solid metal ought to be kinda heavy!

Cheers!

Abbazz

Edit: and congratulations for this shot, which superbly illustrates the smoooooth bokeh of the lens:

Thanks a lot Sébastien,

I cannot agree more about that gem of a lens .. and I also save time & $$$ going to the gym to work on my arm muscles!

I still can't believe the bokeh of this lens when I see it. Of course, the background bokeh is great, but that's rather common nowadays. What's pretty rare is that the foreground bokeh is even better. Usually, lenses having a nice background bokeh do poorly in the foreground and vice-versa.

Cheers!
