...was released to Open Source in December 2012, and former Light Crafts developer Anton Kast is now Lead Developer of the current project.

They are ready to start testing a newly compiled beta for Windows. This is the only PP photo software I know of that works on Linux (ok, besides things like Gimp, but LZ works from a photographer's sensibility, not a graphic designer's...).

Very interesting. The interface reminds me some of Lightroom or PSP. I've played around with it some and it isn't bad at all. One thing I've noticed that I don't especially care for is if I select some sort of enhancement and then play around with its settings, each change is cumulative, adding to the ones that I've done previously. I think this is what's going on, at least. So in order for it not to do this, I have to hit "undo" after each adjustment. Annoying.

Still, there's a lot of power to this package that I don't see in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, the two packages I use the most. It will be a worthwhile supplement I think. But not a replacement.
