Thank you Poilu.
Weather is still cold here but we had some sun and good light, so I was happy. Spring is coming out.
Sorry I didn't see bees yesterday.

Hi Olivier,
nice samples.. thats why i belove this Angenieux's..
someday i must have a new copy of that lens after selling mine..
If i can find a cheap one.. i will buy it again and my small 35-70mm will have a new "big brother".. sometimes it makes me feeling sad that i did sell the lens. Especially if i see such nice nearfield samples..
Now i have my 5D MKII.. should i go now for the "big brother"?
I need your help..
Cheers

Of course, Henry. You know that the 35-70 feels lonely without its bigger brother. _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

And now the "big brother" rings on my door..
In 2009 i did introduce the Angenieux 2.5-3.3/35-70mm on MF Lenses as a part of a bunch of lenses. In this bunch there was also the big brother, the 3.5/70-210mm Angenieux..
After selling my first copy of the 70-210mm long time ago for refinancing a further Leica deal, some days ago i received a second copy for a very good price...
@max aperture 3.5

#2

Both Zoom lenses are superb..

Very nice, Henry !
Do you feel that vignetting is high when it is mounted on the 5D² ?
On mine, could it be the hood ? _________________ Olivier - Moderator

Hi Olivier,
yes this could be the hood. Now i use the rectangular hood for the 70-210.
In the past i did use it on the 35-70mm, and that was the wrong way. As far as i read, the rectangular hood was made for the 70-210..
There is no instruction/info which hood is to use on which lens..
After changing the hoods, the vignetting on the 5D MKII is average.
Congrats to your new Canon 5D MKII, as i can read in your profile !!!!
Are you satisfied with the Angenieux's on the new FF cam?
Cheers

Hi Olivier,
today i did try the normal screen for the 5 D MKII (normally i use the EG-s Screen for fast lenses) and maybe i realized what you mean..
What focusing screen do you use?
With the normal screen you will see lots of vignetting in the viewfinder, but not in the image itself. Did you mean that effect?
Cheers

Sorry for answering late.
Henry, I have an EG focusing screen.
I meant vignetting on the image itself. I tried without the hood and it's a lot better.
I'll give the square hood a trial on the 70-210. Thanks for the tip. _________________ Olivier - Moderator
