I recently got my adapters for my Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AI and 55mm 3.5 Micro AI. The adapter fit on the Micro just fine, giving it a tight fit and letting me use the manual aperture very snappily. However, on the 50mm, It doesnt seem to quite fit as well, and when I try to move the aperture control once its on the body, it rather starts to remove the lens, as its not locked in or something and the aperture is stuck. Once I take off the adapter, the aperture turns fine, but as soon as I put it on, it basically locks up. Do I need to remove just the "bunny ears"? Or would I have to file that additional quarter ring thats sticking out, as it might be causing extra friction? or am I not putting on the adapter correctly? It is a cheapo fotodiox adapter, but like I said, it works fine on the micro. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

I would suggest putting this adapter on the 55/3.5 and, leaving it there. Buy another adapter, perhaps from a different source (there are many, particularly on eBay for little money) and fix that one to the 50mm. If it works, leave it on the lens, forever.

The mf lenses I have (about 30+) all have their own adapters, and cheap rear lens caps. This way I can treat every lens as if it's a native EOS mount lens. No messing about moving adapters between lenses, just find one that fits/works, tighten the fit if necessary, and leave it there.

I've only had to adjust one Nikon mount lens, the 50/1.2, because it had a small piece of metal to help protect the large rear element from touching a flat surface. It was hitting the mirror of my 5D Mkll so I removed it.
Any time I've struggled to fit an adapter it was either because I tried to attach it incorrectly or the adapter's dimensions were slightly off. So I bought another for a few quid on eBay, the next one fits.

Hope that helps.
