I have not used this lens before, but it seems quite good.
Is it a Tessar type lens I wonder?
Here are some images from a K-10D

Nice photos!
Are all Travenars made by Schacht Ulm?
I am seeing one for sale here. It is with M42 mount, 2,8/35mm.

I think the Travenar name has been used by other manufacturers since Schacht Ulm made lenses.

I think you are correct.

The Schacht lenses are very good ones. This was made for edixa cameras. The exakta used Scahcht's leses too.

The 2,8/50 is a tessar type lens.

Travegon 105/3,5 is a lens to gor for too.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
I was thinking it might be a Tessar type - thank you DR.JUAN for verifying it.
No-one has asked, but I know that we all like to see the lens, so here it is:

Old fashion 60's.

For long time that design (tessar) was the standard over which almost all the normals were judged.

Tessar, Skopar, Ektar, Ysarex, Xenar, Elmar, Cassar, etc.. A lot of names, and only one design: 4/3 tessar.

Thanks again.
Here is another image from yesterday's outing - not bad DOF from a "standard" lens.

Yes, Thomas, very good photo and DOF.

It looks like the Schneider Kreuznach Edixa Xenar :

Thank you Oliver.
Yes the Schneider and the A.Schacht look similar and are probably both Tessar types.
I think that the Schneider is a "prettier" lens.
Amazingly, whenever I am out taking images with a DSLR and any AF lens, no one gives the camera a second look.
But whenever I attach a zebra or all metal (polished aluminium) MF lens, the camera always attracts comments and questions.
Most people don't realise that older MF lenses are viable on their DSLR cameras and are surprised to see them being used Surprised
Cheers
OH Very Happy

Not the A.Schacht lens but an image taken with the Schneider.
The lens itself can be seen here:

Taken at max aperture f2.8

I heard that A. Schacht Ulm Edixa-Travegon 35mm f/3.5 was developed by none other than Ludwig Bertele.

As for A.Schacht firm, its founder Albert Schacht had previously worked at Carl Zeiss (1919-1926) and Steinheil (1939-1946).
