Last week I went for a day out with my family without my DSLR for a change. The only camera we had with us was a Canon Powershot A460 P&S with a 5M pixel resolution. The quality obtainable from these cameras is really quite good!

Yes, I had a similar camera, until it broke. In good light, the image quality was excellent.
