I've not had much of a chance to use my Nikkor 105mm f4 outside - the weather has generally been grey or windy, so I had a quick play on the kitchen table. Lighting is just overhead room light and a candle on the table.

Thanks folks.

Andy - spot on!

The reduced pics don't really do the lens justice - it's a razor sharp optic.

Great shots - the apple was almost good enough to eat. This lens has been on my list for a while.

It tends to be a lot cheaper than the 2.8 - I paid around Ł50, and I don't feel the need for anything sharper (if the 2.8 is sharper - I've not tried it). The only downside is if you want 1:1 the PK2 ring goes for a small fortune for what is no more than an extension tube with a tripod mount.

It's a great working distance on a DSLR too!

If we're talking about the micro-nikkor 105/4, I have the AI'd version and
it too, is razor sharp...if I don't move or sneeze! Laughing

Nice shots, Richard!
