First question: can anyone tell which mount this is? Looking at a lens on the bay but the seller has no idea and neither do I.
Second question: Is there a good short tele (75-105mm) I could get for $100 or less, preferably in an M42 mount?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Is there a problem with photo insertions? I tried with the [img] tags, I tried attaching a photo, nothing works for some reason.

135mm is longer than what I would like, ideally I want something like an 85-90mm. And I still can't figure out how to get a photo to show up. [url] tags make the link disappear entirely.

Welcome here santiclaws!
Your picture
Just with [img]url of the picture[/img]
The first time you post it doesn't show up, next post no problem anymore.
For what camera do you want a lens in the range 75 - 105?
That can really make some difference.
Allways fitting possible: Tamron Adaptall-2 zoom 75 - 150mm 3.5, but that's no prime ofcourse |

There are a lot of very decent 100-105mm lenses in M42.
As there are no bad 135's, there are no bad 100-105's either.
Some may be better than others but all I have seen are more than good enough for most purposes.
They should be available for under $50
You will need to shop for a while of course.
There are dozens of types available in numerous brands, these are just some of the more common ones -

Besides these, the famed Nikkor 105mm should at least sometimes come in under your price limit.
75-90mm lenses are rarely available in your price range unfortunately. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Isn't your original lens a Canon FD mount? Check out the identification guide http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-99.html
PS - is it just me or do the [URL][/URL] tags not work in messages any more?
