I ran across this article today while searching for something else. It was the diagrams that caught my eye. Speculation is this lens will probably be used in a Power Shot model, which seems likely, but who knows? Sez a 35mm equivalent of 20mm to 1900mm. You know what? If a P&S zoom camera were to appear with those specs and a reasonably large sensor with a decent megapixel count, I think I'd buy one. Just think, you could carry a camera like that into the ball park and the security people won't hassle you, cuz it will just be P&S, but with that zoom ratio, you'd be able to zoom in on the stitches on the baseball from center field.

It would have to have pretty good IS though for it to be useable handheld.

And here lies the catch. Works only for tiny sensor.

Crop factor 5.5

The image captured might still be good enough for those paparazzi though.
