White balance must work harder to produce desired tone when improper lens is used. For instance using lens that produces warmer tone on sunset light breaks back of WB trying to make tone colder. As consequence more noise can appear and color dynamics suffers. I like green MC CHINON 1.4/55mm or 1.7/55mm for indoor shooting...
