No snow in sight. Only mist & light rain.

Pardon me for critiqueing this.

This is just my opinion.

I see a very strong potential image here.

In my beliefs the less we have in an image the stronger it becomes.

I also believe a strong image consists of two elements, subject and ground.

In this image there appear to be two subjects and no ground to speak of.

The buildings on the left in the distance do not need to be there they fight for dominance with the piles in the foreground middle and right.

The long wooden boardwalk in the distance is also fighting with the piles to be recognized and distracts the eye from the real subject which is the piles.

Moving the camera position to the left would allow the boardwalk to disappear from behind the piles, and then cropping strongly to a square format to remove the buildings on the left of the piles would allow the piles to become stronger in the image and to dominate it.

I believe the piles would then be so strong that they could carry the image on their own.

The image then becomes a strong rendering of subject and ground.

The piles then are the subject, and far in the distance the low shapes of flat hills hinted at in the mist become stronger by not having the buildings or the boardwalk in a tense relationship with them, become the ground.

Then we have an image of great strength that teases the viewer to contemplate what might be in the distance while feeling great tranquility.

I hope this helps.
