I was revisiting some shots taken a few months ago and can't decide about the merits of these two shots. Very little editing (light and contrast). The colour palette seems quite subdued but I like the quality of the water. Comments and observations welcome.

I like the first one more. The island in the centre does it for me.

I like #2 more, the reflections in the water are nice, and the clouds have more detail.

I like the second, more, as well. I think the camera angle is more pleasing (and seems more level) and I think the submerged rocks are more interesting. I also prefer the background which relies more on form than decor (trees).

I like both entirely different images I think, due low saturation I would try b&w too.

I would say both need an itsy bit of saturation and contrast. Especially the clouds in #1 would benefit and add some drama
