Quite amazing what had been achieved then using ordinary film... Shocked

I have some of those lenses used then for that camera.

What a cool old video. The golden age of mechanical engineering.

I was really surprised by the simplicity of the internals of those high speed cameras.

This is fast even by today's standard. Only if our SLR/DSLR have a fraction of its speed.

I had my hands on a Beckman and Whitley Framing camera. It was very big, and driven by a helium turbine.

1.8Million frames per second onto a strip of 35mm film which was stationary. This camera was about 8ft tall. It's original cost was $120,000 in 1960.
