Fair enough, I should probably have posted this in the photographer's cafe.
I did do a quick google image search for the lens before posting. There are a lot of variations on this lens! All shapes and sizes, black, silver, zebras. Within the first couple of hundred result the only ones that matched were Ebay auctions and another online store _________________ I welcome C&C, editing my pics and reposting them on the forum is fine.

yup! amazing lens. and you guys are talking about my lens. it arrived a couple of weeks ago and looking at it, i would have gladly paid 5 times more than the 142 bucks i paid the good guy from halifax. the lens was literally gleaming when i opened the box and it looked like it has just left the factory. it vignettes some on the nex 5n but found a perfect home in my ep3. badass is an understatement. i got a 600 dollar offer thr first day i took it out. the stares alone that i get is worth many times the 142 bucks i paid for it. amazingly sharp too. it is the most solid feeling lens that i ha ever come across -- and i own several leicas. |

Hahaha it's a small world.
Could you please upload a shot of the lens so there's still a record when the ebay auction gets archived? Sample pics also welcome

according to schneider expert, you are indeed correct. photosonics is a defense contractor and makes the cameras that these lenses go on. some of those cameras could be the ones mounted on the noses of cruise or ballistic missiles to guide them to their targets. my copy is so sharp, i swear it could peer through clouds. note the designaton T4 instead of F4. he said that "ordinary" lenses are designated an F number as a purely geometrical size of the aperture. T stands for "TRANSMISSION" where the lens is actually tested in the lab and measured for the actual exact amount of light transmitted from the first element to the final recording device. WOW! my lens indeed is extraordinary! |
