I was excited yesterday morning to see the uncommon Yashica ML 100/3.5 macro in the local classifieds and even more excited when I had it in my hands after meeting the buyer a few blocks away. This lens is very compact and like most Macros in this range, I think it is perfect for digital photography, with excellent sharpness and low distortion. It's a 1:2 macro without a tube.

The optical diagram is here:

Here it is next to the Zeiss 50/1.7 planar and 50/1.9 DSB I purchased at the same time:

There are some older threads discussing this lens on mflenses. Klaus at that time compared it to the Macro Planar, I am not sure if he still feels that way about it. Based on the few shots I took today, it's an excellent lens. There are a few of these on eBay, Kevin's Cameras seems to have several of them, at the typical Kevin's Camera prices.

Below are some random shots I took today. Only one real macro shot, along with a portrait and a landscape. All OOC jpegs taken with NEX 6.

Congrats to owing a fine lens! I have it too and in my opinion it rivals the Zeiss Contax Macro Planar 100mm.
Great shots you got.
